Why Garage Doors Come Off Track
A garage door rides on rollers inside two vertical and two horizontal tracks. It can come off track when:
- A car or object bumps the door or the track
- A lift cable breaks and one side drops
- Rollers are worn, cracked or seized
- Track sections are bent or the mounting brackets have loosened
- The opener keeps pushing a door that is binding
What to Do Right Now
Don’t try to force the door up or down, and don’t run the opener – a door that is partly out of its track can fall. Unplug the opener, keep people and cars away, and call (585) 252-9426.
Our Repair
We secure the door, release spring tension where needed, and guide the rollers back into the track. Bent track sections are straightened or replaced, worn rollers are swapped for quiet nylon rollers, and we tighten the brackets and hinges. If a cable or spring caused the problem, we fix that too, then balance and test the door.
